Well Done to Southon Scouts for not only completing the 25 miler but coming 13th  out of 23 teams in 8 hours 22 mins. This is a fantastic achievement for such a young team. The Cherry on the icing was meeting Bear Grylls at the Medal presentation. Bear flew in by Helicopter and presented the Trophies. Then went around signing books and chatting to the scouts.

Southon Leaders didn't do to bad either we completed the 45 miler Veteran Class coming second in 12 hours 4 mins.

Tullis Explorers completed 70 miles in 24 hours!

272 Explorers completed 45 miles in 15 hours!

4th Uckfield teams "Hairy" and "Tensing" came 2nd and 7th completing 25 miles in 5h 24m and 6h 46m a brilliant achievement.

Sussex Downsman Competition 2nd October 2010. A test of endurance for Scouts, 25 miles over the South Downs way with the fastest team winning. There is also an ‘Open’ class ideal for cubs, and younger Scouts for training. Explorers walk 60 miles and Leaders 45 or 82 miles!

Training events were planned by the Crowborough Scouts are on Sundays and there was a team from Southon Troop's Scouts and also Southon Leaders. (Also there was a team from Tullis Explorers (mostly ex-Southon Scouts!))
