| On Saturday 16th June Beavers and cubs from Wadhurst and Ticehurst took part in the 2007 BT Giant Sleepover record attempt 2007 at the Ticehurst Hut. We attempted to help break the two world records for the largest sleepover and the largest amount of simultaneous teeth brushing. We understand that both records have been broken. The night was totally wild with activities indoors and outdoors, a campfire, assault course, plate spinning, football, specially commissioned video and stories, indoor challenges and games. The theme was environment and there was an environmental footprint video activity. The beavers and cubs slept in tents inside the hut, although sleep may be stretching the imagination as it was a night of running around as usual with adult leaders as the guards. It's great that children just don't change. Thanks to BT Woolworths and other sponsors there were goodie bags with toys comics and games for everyone. The BT event is well structured as they provide boxes with videos and a programme guide too.
It's been a busy week at the hut since we not only hosted beavers, cubs, scouts and explorers this week but also the district AGM. Plus we built a Chinese Junk for the village fete parade and Martlets. The junk scored first prize at the parade - hoorah.
Tont (Ticehurst) At Crowborough Dean had his birthday, re-lightable candles. 25 cubs and 4 leaders.
