Jamboree On The Internet JOTI 2009 Jamboree On The Internet JOTI 2009
The below image is a live image of 1st Crowborough Scout HQ where we have over 50 computers connected to JOTI, plus 2 webcams, 2 Google maps projectors, a juke box where all the computer users can select music and there are a couple of computers using audio JOTI. Additionally we were doing IT Badges stage 1, 2 and 3 with the young people during the day.

Additionally we had organised Jamboree On The Airwaves Saturday afternoon, JOTA, thanks to Peter Allcock.

103 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers took part during Saturday 9am and Sunday 9am. Oli provided a list to all the section leaders as the activity counted towards various awards.

26 Scouts, Explorers and Leaders did JOTI all night through to 9am on Sunday.

The week before all three Beaver Colonies, three Cub Packs, three Scout Troops did IT Badge work during their section meetings.

Thanks to all the Leaders and Young Leaders that made all this happen especially, Oli Robison, Sam Coates, Megan Carmichael, Toby Dawkins and Grant Kerwin-Nye.

Well done, a great turn out!

I would like to thank you, Grant and the rest of the team for making both my scouts and me so very welcome and for organising a great event. I know how hard you guys worked to get it all set up and working and still be smiling Saturday morning (Or was it wind?).

I can only speak of those I saw and spoke to but they all left buzzing with excitement about 'talking' to other Scouts from all over the World. Certainly Emily & Amelia took well over an hour to calm down again (Thanks!!).

Very well done!

Yours in Scouting

Drew Marshall (Groombridge GSL)
